Next day everybody was curious about the captain's injuries, but he kept quiet and as he promised he did not play, and clearly told Momo to shut up about the accident.
Karin was there too, obviously, wondering what was the right thing to do about the manager.. maybe now wasn't the right time, but then he'll probably never believe her. She needed proof.
But how? She hated the situation she was in, she couldn't stand all of that, it was not her place to do certain things and above all it was not like her to worry so much!

That day she played really badly, her teammates looked at her strangely.
Shota approached her -You know that's not what I call a rival-
Karin snorted -Shut up. Even I can have bad days-
The boy grinned -That's why girls are troublesome-
-Say that again and you'll find mold in your mouth- she said, so seriously he couldn't talk back.

Practice ended and Karin just wanted to go home without running in a certain someone, but she took her time changing, so when she left the changing room, everybody already left.
And 'that' person exactly blocked her way.
He had his arms crossed and was staring at her without saying a word.
She sighed, lately she was having such a bad luck.. -What is it- she just said monotone.
-You're such an hypocrite- he said, angry, frowning while looking at her.

-Uh?- Karin was shocked -Why are y- but she couldn't finish that he walked by her and suddenly grasped her arm. She was too No words could ever describe what was going on in her mind at that moment. Her face was red as hell, and her hands trembled.
-That's what I'm talking about-
She had one huge bruise on her lower back. Just looking at it was painful.

Karin froze.
He noticed.
And lifted her shirt.
She could feel his fingers on her skin...
She gulped.

Hitsugaya returned in front of her, and continued to stare at her coldly.
-I was almost convinced you had some common sense. I guess I was wrong- he frowned.
Truth is, he felt responsible. That was a bruise she took when she joined the fight, and it was his fault.
His heart ached.

Karin returned to her sense and sighed, calm, -I don't need to rest, but it can happen.. to play badly..I just have a bit of muscle aches.-
Toushiro seemed really pissed -You're just good at lecturing others and look at you..argh!- now, he was mad.
She was just reacting when a thought passed on her mind -Oh crap! I forgot your clothes!- totally killing the mood.

He just stared at her puzzled -Clothes?- all the rage fading away.
-Yeah sorry, the other day I just ran off with your clothes on-

Saying it like that.. he suddenly felt embarrassed..gosh that girl! No manners at all!

-D-Don't mind it.. you can keep them- like that was the problem..he muttered.
-No no I can't, I'll bring them tomorrow. Oh no, it's saturday then..if you remember me, monday.. maybe..-
She was going nowhere, so he took the ball -Bring them to me tomorrow. You know where I live now-  he said categorically.

-Uh...ok..?- for a moment she didn't understand..and couldn't even shape a thought. His house..? Did he just invite her to his house again?
That would have been the third time.. Karin felt like dying inside. Why..why did she feel like that?
But while she was spacing out he was just gone.
-Crap!-


At home Karin was panicking.
-What should I bring...a cake? No!! What the hell am I thinking! I'll just deliver the clothes than go straight home!-
She took the clothes and put them in a sport bag, careful nobody saw her, and waited for the next day to arrive.
She couldn't sleep all night thinking about meeting him -I'm so lame..-


And finally she found herself in front of Toushiro's house.
-Good- she took a deep breath and ringed the bell.
-Yeeeees!- a melodic voice answered, opening the door. It was a girl with blonde/strawberry hair and huge..really huge breasts.
Karin was so stunned she couldn't say a word.
-My my my, what we have here.. Toushiro-kuuuun there's a nice young girl here for you. How come you didn't tell me anything?!- she yelled, but no answer came.
-Come on, come inside- the girl smiled and totally pushed Karin inside the house.

-Um..- Karin stared at her, holding the bag with the clothes.
-Oh sorry, my name is Rangiku Matsumoto! - she flashed yet again a big smile -You are? Toushiro's girlfriend?- she grinned evilly.
Karin jumped out of surprise -No way!- she refused energetically -I came just to return some clothes-
Rangiku was looking at her and couldn't help but smile, she decided to play along and have fun with her -OH MY! So..with him.. you..!!- she totally faked her surprise and embarrassment, but that was enough to make Karin go crazy -so to say.

-Listen to me..!- Karin struggled to explain herself. That woman was just.. too much, in every aspect.

-Oi oi what's this noise! Matsumoto what are you doing?- Hitsugaya suddenly popped behind them, holding a towel and with semi-wet hair.
His look was harsh, but then he noticed Karin and kind of -Oh Kurosaki... do not mind her- turned normal.

Karin sighed heavily -Here- and gave him the bag -....- 'Thanks for all the trouble' she wanted to say but somehow it wouldn't come out of her mouth, instead she just froze there embarrassed.
Rangiku was a love expert and knew too well what was going on, also she found Toushiro's 'friend' very cute, she couldn't help but smile at her pureness. She dropped the earlier game and decided it was ok to help her when she noticed how uneasy she was, so Rangiku suddenly pushed Karin 'Come on, do not stand in the hallway it's rude! Come on, come on up!' and lead her in the living room.
The poor girl didn't know what to say and was made sit on the black sofa, while the blonde beauty stared at her.
-I should go..- Karin started, looking around in discomfort. Hitsugaya was nowhere to be seen.
Rangiku intercepted her gaze -He's in the kitchen- making her blush unwillingly -You know..Karin?.. you're really cute, I'll help you-
The busty girl smiled and seeing Karin didn't answer (but her reaction was more than enough) she continued -You don't need to worry, you know other than me and Momo, Toushiro has no female friends and he absolutely has no love interest in us, I guarantee that!- and she laughted it away.
-Is that so?- Karin was really taken aback by that girl..she didn't 'get' her nor she ever met someone like her -I don't care about that-
-Oh you do- the blonde smiled -I can see that clearly. So you can ask me whatever you want- she crossed her long curvy legs and waited.
-What do you want from me? Leave me alone- Karin snapped, she said that quietly but was flustered.
-I didn't expect this reaction!- she laughed it off and stood up in front of her -I like you- than got nearer until her face was just few millimetres away.
-Uh- Karin tried to shrink back but the back of the sofa stopped her -Too close- Karin whispered, afraid of what would have eventually happened.
But that wasn't going to stop Rangiku, she held Karin's neck and got even nearer as if she was going to kiss her ..Karin realized and she was about to push her or scream when a sudden loud noise stopped both of them.

-What the fuck are you doing?- Hitsugaya was watching them from afar, bewildered, and dropped some plates with snacks in the meantime.
-Uh sorry, I was caught in the moment!- Rangiku smiled and backed off, like nothing happened.
But Karin and Hitsugaya were still in shock.
-Are you a lesbian?- Karin spouted.
-Actually I'm bi!- she confessed, leaving Toushiro even more shocked. Then she helped him picking plates and snacks from the floor and while she was at it, she whispered to him -Don't worry I won't steal her from you- and winked.
-G-Go home right now!You're just crazy!- Hitsugaya snapped and screamed, blushing uncontrollably.
-Eeh I don't want to-- she nagged and acted like a baby, leaving him no choice -Damn you, have it your way- he muttered, leaving the room again.
-Yay! Karin here's a drink!- she run to her but lose her balance and fell on her, pouring the drink on her shirt -I'm sooooorry- while not seeming sorry at all.

After a while, Karin found herself in the tub with Rangiku (in Japan is common use to bathe together when on the same sex -nda).
-So, you did plan all of it, didn't you?- Karin sighed then looked at her in the eyes.
-You found out! Yes, I'm a bad girl but, you see, you two won't move forward if someone don't push you from behind. And that's my role!- she smiled. Suddenly she seemed a mature and smart woman who really knew her way in life and love.
-Nobody asked you-
-Oh so you admit it at least!-
Karin blushed again but closed her eyes, irritated -You're as annoying as Hinamori-
-Then you met her..- she fixed Karin -.. and you know her real self I assume- she smiled -Good luck with that, she's a tough one-
-She's just a bitch-
-That's another way to put it, but yes, basically you're right!- and then she laughed it off again, like it was the most funny joke ever heard. -You need to be smarter to compete with her, she'll use any means to get what she wants-
Karin scratched her head -Yeah, I know her methods. She plays dirty..but seriously that has nothing to do with me, if he intend to be made a fool of by her then so be it- she said furiously, letting out what was on her mind for the first time.
-Ahahahah!- Rangiku adjusted one of her curls and looked at her -It's not that simple, she was a very nice child and Toushiro grew up with her. I don't know what changed her like that- she pushed Karin to tell her everything that happened and she did, not all but for the most part, regretting it later.
-Argh why did I tell you all of that!-
Rangiku suddenly became serious, she had a sad look in her eyes that made Karin shut up. Then without notice, she got fired up as she spoke -Listen! I know you're young and you're supposed to do a lot of mistakes but..don't let this chance go. You'll regret it later and you won't be able to do anything anymore..- she sounded like she went though that, then she explained -When I was your age..I loved a man, he was older than me and in some way he taught me everything. But as time passed I let him go..because of some circumstances..- her eyes looked teary -Now..now I can't be with him anymore..even if I want it with all my heart..I'll never love anyone like him..-
Karin froze for a second -Is he..?- she asked, without the courage to go on.
-Yes, he's dead..I'm not saying that will happen to you too but you need to stop being indecisive. You know how they say it 'Carpe Diem'! -
That big and beautiful lively girl was now crying her heart out, Karin felt odd.. she didn't know what to say so she just patted her back.

When she calmed down Rangiku decided to go home (actually she lived a few blocks away), Karin still felt very puzzled as she waited in the living room for her clothes to dry -she was wearing a jacket but was without her shirt-.
-Sorry about her- said Hitsugaya sitting on an armchair beside her -She's so noisy!-
-It's ok- Karin seemed distracted and Toushirou noticed that -You seem kind of down, what's up?- he asked.
Karin just jolted -Uh? I'm fine? Oh, by the way.. my bag..- she searched for her sport-bag, the whole reason she was there.
-Does your back still hurts?- he looked at her with worried eyes, and that just caught her attention
-That reminds me, beside these - and she handed down the clothes without answering -I came to check on your injuries- she said as she pulled out a medical set from her bag.

Strangely enough Hitsugaya didn't complain, he just looked away while she positioned herself in front of him.
The atmosphere grew weird, nobody talked.
She disinfected again the injuries on his arms and was looking at his head (where he had the deepest wound) when her heart skipped a bit, she felt his gaze all over her. Karin felt her legs trembling, but she had to go on -Um, the shirt- suddenly she felt embarrassed asking that, after seeing his chest for the 5°time maybe. Why now, and why like that..? She always was professional when doing her job..
He did it without saying a word, while he previously made a big fuss out of it, instead he lifted his shirt with just a move and kept staring at her.
Karin did her best not to meet his gaze and that was killing her, not talking about her non-existent concentration.

Her hand trembled when she slightly touched his chest, Hitsugaya closed his eyes and seemed to tremble as well to the touch.
Karin involuntarily let go of the disinfectant bandage, he noticed that and fixed her again like he was asking a silent question. She couldn't control herself, she was trying to restrain her feeling, and looking away desperately. She wanted to run away and maybe something in her revealed that intention because Hitsugaya caught her hand and forced her, silently, to look at him.

She did and that was the end, everything lost its meaning.
Just in a matter of seconds, he pulled her down onto him ad abruptly kissed her.

She didn't have really time or the right mind to be surprised, she felt like dying and revive again in the same moment. Kissing him back was just a natural thing to do.
All the passion and attraction that piled up till that moment exploded in that kiss.
Their hands were all over each others as the kiss gained in intensity.

Red cheeks, wet lips and short breath, another gaze, his face into her neck breathing her scent though her hair and skin, another kiss and a sigh coming right from inside her.
They couldn't stop.

He was lowering the zipper of her jacket when the phone rang.
The spell was broken, they looked at each other as if they didn't even remember who was the other person and what were they doing.
Hitsugaya was about to say something but Karin just stopped him placing her hand between them.

And then she ran, she ran as if her life was at stake.
Again she was running away from him.
